Das Objektiv kam super verpackt und pünktlich, wie vereinbart bei mir an! Mein in die Jahre gekommenes Canon EF 70-200 f 4,0 L is usm konnte ich nach 10 Jahren im Gebrauch für noch über die hälfte des Neupreises wieder verkaufen. Soviel zur Wertigkeit des Objektivs! Nun war ich sehr verwöhnt durch die Leistung der alten Linse. Soviel vorweg, das neue Canon EF 70-200 f 4,0 is usm II ist ein sehr würdiger Nachfolger. Äußerlich hat sich außer der etwas helleren Farbe und der jetzt 3. IS Einstellung nichts verändert. Die Haptik ist nach wie vor exzellent, und die Schärfe scheint mir noch besser zu sein. Der IS arbeitet jetzt mit 5 statt 4 Stufen, so das aus der Hand verwacklungsfreie Aufnahmen bis ca. 1/10 Sekunde durchaus möglich sind. Somit ist es durchaus Low Light tauglich (ruhende unbewegte Objekte vorausgesetzt) Das beeindruckt mich immer wieder! Ich benutze das Objektiv an einer spiegellosen Canon Eos RP und an der Canon 7D Mark II. An beiden Kameras funktioniert das Objektiv außergewöhnlich gut, auch mit einem Telekonverter. Es wird ja viel über das doppelt so teure und doppelt so schweres 70-200 f2,8 II geschrieben und gelobt. Das f4 ist eher ein Underdog und glänzt eher mit Leistung. Für mich ein unverzichtbares Objektiv!

La estabilización de este objetivo parece brujería, es mágica, haciendo pruebas he conseguido tirar a 0.4" con una nitidez bastante alta. El anillo de zoom es menos suave que el de la versión I pero se sigue pudiendo mover con un dedo. El parasol ya no tiene terciopelo por dentro, es todo plástico. Pesa la mitad que su hermano 2.8.
